The Type 56-2 is a relative of the Type 56 family, it boasts a steel side folding stock and polymer furniture instead of wood. Said to be used more by armoured crews it can quickly fold down into a handy, easy to store, package. As you would expect from Real Sword the quality is far higher than any other rifle available today, even Systema cannot match the external quality of Real Sword.

It's the type of rifle that would be extremely useful for new and old players alike. Many skirmish sites have been adopting this variant due to the toughness and quality.

The Type 56 is the Chinese copy of the famous AK47. This version looks and feels just like the real thing, and there is a reason for that - many of the parts are manufactured using the same processes and methods as the real Type 56 (all legal of course). In fact, one of the most notable aspects of this AEG is that it bears the exact same dimensions as the real one. The 100% real frame size was possible thanks to a specially-developed 7mm bearing metal gearbox, which has also been equipped with a high strength gear set, air seal nozzle and spring release device, for easy care and modification.

The parts used in this version give a authentic feel and look. It benefits from having an all-steel construction which gives this gun the same sturdiness of the real one. The 259mm stamped steel frame is the same size too, and all the rivets and welding points correspond to what you will find on the Original. Even the selector is a new design which gives a stiff and definite click into position.

Type 56. It comes with a plastic bayonet also! All this makes it great for those who appreciate a good replica. Look on the receiver, and you will note that each one comes with a unique serial number. Even the handguard, stock and grip were created using the same manufacturing process for their real counterparts. For an AEG, it is pretty astounding to be able to keep the real dimensions, even the weight is almost the same as the real one! The box even comes with a few nice touches. The magazine is wrapped in grease proof paper, there is a small tool kit and there is (empty) oil bottles. It's these touches that make the RS company that little bit different.

The key difference between this and the regular 56 is the lack of bayonet but with the addition of the steel folding stock. Do not confuse this with the light metals used in the Cyma and TM version, this bad boy ain't going anywhere!!

The SVD is a completely bespoke design internally. A 4 gear system that allows better transfer of torque. The cylinder set is not only longer but wider, providing more air displacement in the barrel. The gears have full steel bearings, and also sports a metal spring guide and a high strength polymer piston. The entire body is CNC and the wood finish is excellent. The set comes with a sight adjustment tool and easy to unlock gearbox, essential on a semi auto only rifle. The barrel is a huge 690mm long and 6.04mm in diameter. These are fitted with a M120 spring and are therefore incapable of firing full auto. Real Sword claim that due to the inovative design it will run up to a M170 on a 9.6V battery. At this point only 500 will be made. This is the unscoped version based on the Chinese version of the ever famous Dragunov.

UPDATE: This is the version 2 model with stronger tappet plate allowing for better upgrading and a release catch for the gearbox in the magazine well.

The Chinese-made Type 97 broke the mould of Chinese-made assault rifles in that it wasn't based on the design of another gun (the Type 81 and Type 56 prior to that were based on the AK series). The Type 95 used the Chinese-developed 5.8mm caliber, which outperformed the 7.62mm caliber in tests. The Type 97 is an export version, which chambers the 5.56mm NATO round instead. It was first introduced in the handover of Hong Kong, on the 1st July 1997, when the Chinese PLA Garrison Troops in Hong Kong were armed with the then brand new assault rifle.

RS continue their principle of creating authentic airsoft replicas of real-steel guns with this Type 97. Their thorough research and development means that this is an ultra-realistic AEG. Just like their Type 56/Type56-1, it features an all-new specially-developed 7mm bearing metal gearbox so that the original dimensions could be retained. The gearbox has also been equipped with a high strength gear set, air seal nozzle and spring lease device, for easy care and modification. All the external parts you see are identical to the real-steel version, even the disassembly/assembly has been faithfully replicated! Field-stripping this gun is done by removing the two lock pins for a quick disassembly.

Just like the real thing, the butt stock, upper and lower handguard are made of high strength polmer - special Nylon 66. The properties of this material make it durable yet lightweight, maintaining a rigid structure. It has a real-steel factory standard high strength duralmin forged frame, which has been CNC processed, hard coat anodized and is resistant to corrosion. What RS have done is quite admirable, and the research, development & manufacturing processes have been very concise in making a gun which is, in aesthetics, a perfect replica of the real-steel Type 97.

The Type 97B has a slight misfortune, it is a sad case that photographs do not do it justice! It is as solid as its larger brother with a more compact "CP" feel to it. Between it's outstanding durability and performance it would rein supreme in any indoor environment!
